Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister M Tajul Islam said that there will be no compromise with the quality work.
“There will be no compromise with the quality work…Those who would indulge in corruption, irregularities or substandard work would be severely punished,” he said.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the “Best Self-Reliant Women Award-2021” organized on Monday by the Department of Local Government Engineering-LGED in city’s Agargaon arena marking the International Women’s Day, said a press release.
“Small mistakes can damage any good image, so no one will be exempted from committing irregularities in work,” he added.
Referring to the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the minister said, no bridges would be constructed without considering the navigational, hydrological, geological and morphological aspects. “Women in the country are achieving unprecedented success in all sectors and are contributing to the development of the country,” he said.
Earlier, the minister handed over the crest to nine women in three categories of Rural Development, Urban Development and Small Water Resources Development selected by LGED’s Gender and Development Forum.
Helaluddin Ahmed, Senior Secretary, Local Government Department and Additional Secretary of Local Government Department Mezbah Uddin were present with Chief Engineer of LGED M Abdur Rashid Khan in the chair.
