Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim said the government would not compromise with the quality of medicine.
“Stern action will be taken if anyone found guilty in compromising with the quality of drugs,” he said.
He said this on Wednesday while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of a pharmacy at North South University (NSU) at Bashundhara in the city.
Question of compromise regarding the quality of medicine should not be raised as it deals with health issues, he said, adding, Bangladesh’s pharmaceutical industry has a strong position in global pharmaceutical market and it is exporting drugs to 151 countries across the globe after meeting the local demand.
Director General, Directorate General of Drug Administration Major General Md Mutafizur Rahman, NSU Board of Trustee Membar M A Hashem, Acting Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Hasan Mahmud Reza, Managing Director of Incepta Pharmaceuticals Limited Munir Muktadir, Pharmacy Council of Bangladesh Vice President M Mosaddek Hossain were present, among others.
