No censorship on media in country : PIO

Principal Information officer of the Government of the Bangladesh AKM Shamim Chowdhury said there is no censorship on media in the country .
 He said media is the impartial part of development of the country and govt collects major information through journalists and as such takes decisions.
He disclose it while addressing the journalists of the daily during his visit there. He urges the journalists to depict the 10 mega projects of the present Govt to the people correctly.
 He also disclosed that Govt has constituted journalist welfare trust for the welfare of the journalists. In the morning CIO visited local PID office and exchanged views wih the workers there. Later he also addressed a views exchange meeting at Chittagong Press Club auditorium.
CIO in his brief deliverations at Chittagong Press Club urged the journalists to present the objective news rather any controversial news which may harm the image and reputation of the govt. He said journalists are the correct media of country to depict true picture of a country. He also urges journalists to present the ongoing development activities of the present govt to the people.
Deputy Commissioner of Chitagong Mesbahuddin also addressed the journalists.
Former and the incumbent President of Chittagong Press club and general secretary, President and General Secretary Chittagong Union of Journalists were present among others.
Journalists from different electronic and print medias also participated the meeting.
The journalist leaders of Chittagong Press Club called upon the declaration of 9th wage board for journalists and the implementation of 8th wage board in all dailies of the port city.
Senior Information Officer Md. Azizul Hoque Newton was also present on the occasion.
