‘No border killing in future’

Bangladesh was assured further that there would be no border killing in future. The assurance came in the deputy commissioner- district magistrate level Bangladesh – India joint border conference held in Jessore on Sunday.
The information was revealed at a joint press briefing at the conference room of Deputy Commissioner, Jessore on Sunday afternoon.
Dr Humayun Kabir, Deputy Commissioner, Jessore and Manmeet Nanda, District Magistrate, Noth 24 Parganas, West Bengal, India briefed the journalists on behalf of Bangladesh and India.
Replying to a question of journalists, Manmeet Nanda told that she expected that no more border killing will take place in future.
Several bilateral issues such as prisoner extradition, human trafficking, smuggling and border demarcation were discussed in the conference.
The joint conference was held at Jessore deputy commissioner’s conference room .Abdus Samad, divisional commissioner, Khulna, Dr Humayun Kabir, deputy commissioner, Jessore, Lieutenant Colonel Jahangir Hossain, commanding officer, 26 Border Guard Battalion, Anisur Rahman, superintendent of police, Jessore, Nazmul Ahsan, deputy commissioner, Satkhira, Lt Col Md Arman Hossain, commanding officer, 38 Border Guard Battalion, Chowdhury Manjurul Kabir, superintendent of police, Satkhira, Mahbub Alam Talukder, Deputy Commissioner, Jhenaidah, Altaf Hossain, Superintendent of Police, Jhenaidah and Manmeet Nanda, District Magistrate, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, India Tanmay Ray Chowdhury, Superintendent of Police, North 24 Parganas took part the conference.
