Two and half hours after issuing it, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) on Wednesday afternoon lifted its order suspending the plying of vessels from Sadarghat launch terminal.
The BIWTC suspended the plying of vessels, including launches and ferries, from 3pm until further notice due to inclement weather. However, it withdrew the order around 5:30pm following improvement in the weather condition. Contacted, BIWTA Joint Director Alamgir Kabir told UNB that they lifted the suspension as per the suggestions of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
