BSS, Dhaka :
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Sunday reiterated that not a single arrest has been made without court warrant as police have only arrested the people who are accused in specific cases.
“BNP brought allegations that police are arresting its leaders and activists without issuing warrant for them. But police are only taking actions against those who are accused in specific cases, he told newsmen following a programme at Bangabandhu International Conference
Centre (BICC) in the city. The minister inaugurated the National Plan of Action (NPA) for Prevention of Human Trafficking 2018-2022 as the chief guest. The USAID organised the event.
He said it is a political strategy of BNP that they made the allegation of mass arrest against their leaders and activists which is only propaganda nothing else.
Law enforcement agencies are currently working under the Election Commission. They are arresting or going into actions as per the directives from the EC, Kamal said, adding, “If there is an arrest warrant against a nomination seeker or any person, the law enforcement agencies have no option but to arrest them.”
Replying to a query about spreading rumour in social media, he said the law enforcing agencies are working on it and stern action will be taken against the people who will be found involved in circulating wrong information on social networking platform.
