There is no alternative to popularising the Science and ICT (Information and Communication Technology) based education among the students to accelerate the pace of national uplift in this competitive 21st century.
Officials and educationists expressed this view at a views-sharing meeting on ‘Development of Science Education’ organized by Ramnathpur Bahumukhi Nabayan Sangha (RBNS) at Badarganj upazila parishad auditorium here on Wednesday afternoon.
Bangladesh Freedom Foundation extended assistance to RBNS in organising the meeting.
Headmasters and Superintends of 33 secondary level schools and Dakhil Madrasa from all over Badarganj upazila in the district participated in the meeting presided over by Executive Director of RBNS Saiful Islam.
Badarganj Upazila Secondary Education Officer Mohiuddin Ahmed attended the meeting as the chief guest while Academic Supervisor of Upazila Secondary Education Office Shamim Ara Akhter was special guest.
Headmaster Hassan Ali of Pathanpara High School, Mahfuzar Rahman of Ashrafganj High School, Zikrul Haque of Osmanpur High School, Chitta Ranjan Roy of Madhupur Adarsha High School and Joynal Abedin of Radhanagar High School addressed.
Coordinator of Bangladesh Freedom Foundation Morshed Alam moderated the sessions of the meeting.
In their speeches, the speakers put emphasis on popularising science education among the school students to flourish their creative abilities.
Putting importance on science education and nurturing science in the secondary level educational institutions, they said many countries have attained self-sufficiency in all spheres of their national lives acquiring science education.
They suggested for establishment of knowledge-based society and added that there is no alternative to enrich the science education sector in the country for attaining sustainable national prosperity in the competitive world.
The chief guest asked heads of the secondary level educational institutions to further improve teaching skill of the teachers for popularising and presenting science and ICT-based education and knowledge easily understandable to the students.
