BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, there is no second option other than mass uprising to overcome the political crisis prevailing in the country.
He said, the party is working to unite all the patriotic forces of the country to restore democracy and people’s rights.
Mirza Fakhrul said it at a discussion on Saturday in the central council of the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) at the Metropolitan Theater in the capital.
He said, “The government is making Bangladesh a failed State in a planned way by destroying democratic institutions.”
“A fascist government cannot be defeated alone. All the forces should come together. We believe that we shall be able to establish a pro-people government in place of a despotic one uniting all the patriotic and democratic forces.”
BNP Secretary said, “JSD was formed to retain the core spirit of independence.” They still hold that spint. But unfortunately, after three years of independence the picture is different. We are saying that we want democracy back.
He said, Khaleda Zia, who is eligible for legal bail, is still in jail. Because the pro-government forces fear her politically.
