Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Thursday said his party will not announce any programme to counter BNP’s rally in the city.
“We will not announce any counter programme against any party. But if BNP wants to create anarchy and sabotage in the name of political programme, the law enforces will take necessary measures,” he told a joint meeting of AL secretariat and the presidents and general secretaries of associate bodies at the party office at Bangabandhu Avenue here.

AL Joint General Secretaries Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif and Abdur Rahman, Organizing Secretary BM Mozammel Haque and Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Information and Research Secretary Advocate Afjal Hossain, Science and Technology Affairs Secretary Engineer Abdus Sobur, Deputy Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua, Awami Jubo League General Secretary Md Harunur Rashid, Swechchhasebak League President Mollah Md Abu Kawser, Jatiya Sramik League president Shukkur Mahmud, Mahila Awami League General Secretary Mahmuda Begum Creek and Jubo Mahila League President Najma Akter, among others, were present on the occasion.
Quader said his party is getting further synchronized and taking preparations for the next general election.
