UNB, Dhaka :Attorney General Mahbubey Alam on Sunday said the appeal hearing against condemned war crimes convict Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Motiur Rahman Nizami is likely to be completed by December 15.”I hope the appeal hearing against the Jamaat leader will end within December 15 before the Supreme Court goes on vacation,” the Attorney General told reporters at his office. Mahbubey Alam, however, expressed satisfaction over the execution of BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury and Jamaat leader Ali Ahsan Mojaheed.The hearing on the appeal filed by Nizami challenging the death penalty handed down to him for his war crimes started on September 9 last. On October 29 last year, the International Crimes Tribunal-1 sentenced Nizami to death for crimes against humanity, including genocide and the murder of intellectuals, during the Liberation War in 1971.
