UNB, Dhaka :
The government on Sunday appointed Energy Division’s Additional Secretary Nizam Uddin Chowdhury as chairman of Petrobangla, the state-owned principal corporation in the hydrocarbon sector.
The Energy Ministry issued an order in this regard saying that Nizam Uddin Chowdhury will perform his duty as chairman of Petrobangla in addition to his current charge at the Energy Division.
The new Petrobangla chairman took over his charge on Sunday soon after receiving the ministry’s order.

Monsur’s contractual term expired on October 19 (Saturday. Earlier, Dr. Monsur, a Dhaka university professor at its geology department, performed as chairman since October 19, 2010.
