Nine players share the top slot in the SAIF POWERTEC LIMITED 41st National ‘B’ Chess Championship securing five points each after the 6th round matches at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room on Tuesday.
The leaders are: IM Abu Sufian Shakil, FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman Emon (Dhaka Mohammedan), IM Minhazuddin Ahmed Sagar, FM Taibur Rahman, FM Khondakar Aminul Islam (Bangladesh Navy), FM Debaraj Chatterjee (Titas Club), CM Monir Hossain, CM Sohel Chowdhury (Leonine CC) and FM Rezaul Haque (Fire-Service & Civil Defense)
Five Players followed the leaders neck and neck collecting 4.5 points each. They are: FM Mehdi Hasan Parag (Leonine CC), FM Sheikh Nasir Ahmed, FM Mohammad Javed, CM Mahtabuddin Ahmed and Sharif Hossain (Bangladesh Navy).
In the day’s 6th round matches, Shakil drew with Debaraj, Minhaz beat Abdullah Al-Saif, Nasir drew with Mahtab, Taibur beat FM Fahad Rahman, Khondakar Amin beat SM Sharon, Emon beat Sagar, Reza beat Uten, Sohel beat Jamal Uddin, Monir beat Nayeem Haque, Parag beat Saimon Siddiqur Rahman, Javed beat Badrul Alam and Sharif beat Abdul Momin.
The 7th round matches will be held today (Wednesday) from 3 pm at the same venue.
