At least nine more persons were killed and 40 others critically injured in separate road crashes across the country on Monday.
In Noakhali, at least four people were killed and two others injured at Mirwarishpur in Begumganj upazila on Monday afternoon.
The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Firoz Alam Molla, Officer-in-Charge of Begumganj Police Station told the media that the accident took place when a roughly-driven bus ran over an auto-rickshaw on Chowmohoni-Sonaimuri road in front of Rashidia Madrasa around 2:30pm leaving four people dead.
In Magura, two persons including a HSC candidate were killed in separate road crashes on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Tomal Biswas, 18, son of one Tonmoy Biswas of Sadar upazila and Apon Biswas, 8, son of one Prosantu Biswas.
Sirajul Islam, Officer in-Charge (OC) Magura Sadar told the media.
In Laxmipur, a man was killed and 22 others injured in two separate road accidents in Sadar upazila of Laxmipur district on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Kazi Siraj Uddin, 45, employee of Sadar Upazila Health Complex. Md Shahjahan Khan, Officer in-Charge (OC) of Chandraganj Highway Police Station told the media.
In Faridpur, a motorcyclist named Robin, 25, was killed when a bus rammed him in Bhanga upazila of the district on Monday noon.
Md Ibrahim, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Bhanga Highway Police told the matter to media.
In Chattogram, a university-going student named Reshmah Akhter died when a bus hit her in Rauzan upazila of the district.
The deceased was a student of Open University and daughter of one Monir Hossain in Daboya area under the upazila.
