Nine matches of the First Security School Rugby competition were decided on the opening day (Wednesday) on Physical Training College ground in the city’s Mohammadpur.
On the day’s matches, Cambrian School best Muslim High School by 12-0 points, St Gregory’s School & College defeated Islami Adarsha Biddyaloy by 24-0 points, Shaheed Nabi High School beat Ahamadbagh Adarsha High School by 10-5 points, Moinertek High School outclassed Ali Ahmed School & College by 5-0 points, St Gregory’s School & College outplayed Haider Ali School & College by 10-0 points, Ahamdbagh Adarsha High School beat Sunshine Pre-cadet High School by 7-0 points, Moinertek High School defeated Hazi Ashraf Ali High School by 15-0 points, Beraid Muslim High School beat Begum Rokeya Pouro High School by 15-10 points and Cambrian School played out to a 5-5 points draw with Begum Rokeya Pouro High School.
Besides, St Gregory’s High School and Cambrian School ensured their semi-final berth of the competition.
Earlier, Dr M Aminul Islam, director of sports directorate, inaugurated the meet as the chief guest.
