At least nine persons including six in Bagerhat, were killed and several others injured in separate road crashes across the country on Saturday.
 In Bagerhat, at least six persons were killed and 14 others injured in a tragic road crash after a bus collided head on with a rod-laden truck on the Khulna-Mawa highway in Kakdanga area in Fakirhat upazila on Saturday Afternoon.
Among the victims, one was identified as Rafiza, a 4-month old girl, while the identities of others could not be known yet.
ANM Khairul Anam, Officer-in-Charge of Fakirhat Police Station, confirmed the matter to the media and said that a Madaripur-bound bus coming from Khulna collided with the truck around 4 pm, leaving three people dead on the spot and 15 others injured.
Later, two of the injured succumbed to their injuries on the way to Fakirhat Upazila
Health Complex, the OC added. Law enforcers, fire fighters and locals later rescued the injured and took them to Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex and Khulna Medical College Hospital.
In Chattogram, a bus helper was killed after a covered van hit him in Sitakunda of the district on Saturday.
The accident took place on Dhaka-Chattogram highway.
The victim was identified as Md. Russel, 32, son of one Nur Uddin, of South Fedainagar area under Bareiyardhala union of Sitakunda upazila.
The victim was declared dead at Sitakunda upazila helth complex, Kumira police outpost in-charge Saidul Islam told media.
In Manikganj, a driver of auto-rickshaw was killed when a truck hit the vehicle in Harirampur upazila of Manikganj district on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Liton Pramanik, 32, son of one Afsar Pramanik of Bhatipara village under Gopinathpur union in the upazila. He worked at a RMG factory in Gazipur district.
Harirampur Police Station inspector (investigation) Mosharraf Hossain said.
