National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT), an India-based organization, expressed its interest to provide all cooperation, including training and technology support, to education sector of the country.
The NIIT interest came at a meeting between its three member delegation headed by Vice-President Sheeba Thomas and Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid at the secretariat here on Monday. Two other members of the delegation are Rajesh Ranolia and Sanjoy Ticku.
The minister said the present government is working hard to ensure equal opportunity in education sector. Enrolment of girl students at primary and higher secondary levels has already increased, he said and expressed the hope that gender balance would be ensured at higher education level.
“Our main challenge is to ensure standard of education. Despite limited resources, our efforts will continue to this end,” the minister said.
