One nightguard was stabbed to death in Anowara upazila yesterday morning. The deceased was identified as Yakub, 50, a resident of Chunnapara area of Raipur Union of the upazila . He worked as a night guard in the local market.
Anwara Police Station OC Dulal Mahmud said that no one had yet been arrested in connection with the murder that took place in Chunnapara Bazar on Sunday morning.
He told the media that Yakub was stabbed in the chest and somehow went to a nearby house. Residents took him to Chattogram Medical College Hospital.
ASI Alauddin Talukder of Chattogram Medical College Police Outpost said Yakub was rushed to the hospital around 4:15 am and was pronounced dead by doctors.
OC Dulal said, “It is not known who stabbed him. However, Yakub’s brother verbally complained that he had a dispute with his uncle over their land.
