Xinhua, Abuja :
Nigeria does not need a new loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) despite economic challenges, IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde said here Tuesday.
Lagarde, who is on a four-day visit here, made the comment after meeting with Nigerian leader Muhammadu Buhari.
Lagarde said her visit to Nigeria was not to negotiate a loan for the country, contrary to the widespread speculation, but rather to discuss how the most populous African nation could overcome the economic challenges caused by dwindling global oil prices.
