National Human Rights Commission Chairman Dr Mizanur Rahman on Monday urged the government to make a new law against arson attack and bomb explosion across the country.
“Petrol bomb attack and bomb explosion are undesirable and regrettable. It is a war against state. It destroys the human and fundamental rights of the people. The government should think deeply to stop such attacks”, Dr Mizan said.
He said this at a token hunger strike observed under the Banyan Tree on the Dhaka University campus, protesting the ongoing political violence and arson
attacks throughout the country. Dhaka University Teachers Association (DUTA) organised the two-hour token hunger strike.
Around 150 teachers from different departments and faculties took part in the hunger strike that started at Aparajeyo Bangla around 11:00am.
The speakers condemned the present chaos, which is hampering the ongoing SSC examinations and the education sector.
