Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu said the next national election will be held as per the constitution.
“The country is being run as per the constitution. In 2014, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina tackled the opposition’s ill attempts to take state power by creating a constitutional vacuum in the name of foiling election,” he said.
The minister said this on Sunday while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion on “Skills for achieving prosperous Bangladesh and SDGs” at Institution of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh (IDEB) in the city, said a press release.
Amu said, compared to other countries, Bangladesh has achieved remarkable success in different socio-economic indicators under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“Once, there was the shortage of food for seven crore people, but now there is no shortage of food in the country,” he added.
IDEB organised the discussion marking its 47th anniversary and Public Engineering Day-2017. IDEB President Engineer AKM Hamid presided over the discussion.
