‘Next budget must be business-friendly’

The newly-elected President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Md. Jashim Uddin, on Thursday said that the next fiscal budget should be business-friendly so that goals set by business entities amid the coronavirus pandemic can be achieved.
Jashim Uddin requested the government to reduce taxes on export and SME oriented products so that businesses can overcome the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
He said this during the inauguration ceremony of the newly-elected board of directors of the federation held in the capital on Thursday afternoon.
Jashim Uddin said that the federation would take initiatives for ease of doing business and further initiatives would be taken following discussion with the related ministries and government bodies.
FBCCI Senior Vice President Mostofa Azad Chowdhury Babu, vice presidents MA Momen, Habib Ullah Dawn, Amin Helali, Aminul Haque Shamim, MA Razzak Khan and Salahuddin Alamgir among others were present at the event.
