Objective journalism stressed

Leaders of different organizations of Netrakona-based working journalists at a discussion meeting on newspapers and objective journalism held here on Monday emphasised the need for ensuring free flow of information in every government and non-government offices and institutions under the guideline of the right to information act as well as flourishing of objective journalism for highlighting the actual picture of the society and keeping the people free from all sorts of confusion and propaganda. They also underscored the need for highlighting the national building activities and development works of the government and non-government organizations by the side of projecting investigative reports on crime and corruption and anti-social activities. Rural Journalist Foundation (RJF), Netrakona district unit organized the meeting at the conference room of Netrakona Press Club here on Monday marking the 9th founding anniversary of the RJF. Chaired by president of the RJF Netrakona district unit Delwar Khan, the meeting was addressed, among others, by president of Bangladesh Sangbadik Samity, Netrakona district unit Haider Jahan Chowdhoy, general secretary of Netrakona press club Muklesur Rahman Khan, ex-general secretary of Netrakona Press Club Shamoledu Paul, president of Netrakona television Sangbadik Forum Mahbubul Kibria Chowdhory Halim, District Correspondent of BSS M Faqrul Haque, Treasurer of Netrakona Press Club AKM Abdullah and General Secretary of RJF Netrakona district unit Sujadul Islam Farash. The journalists leaders demanded of the government for immediately announcing ninth wage board award for working journalists of the newspapers and news agencies of the country.
Mobile Court fines Tk. 3 lakh in Katiadi

A mobile court of Kishoreganj District Administration on Saturday fined Tk. 3 lakh at Hachari Fish Project for fish food adulteration, preparation of fish in unhygienic environment, without permission catch fish national catagory- 3 fish production, selling, marketing, stock and running business without dealing licenes. Additional Deputy Commissioner and 1st Class Magistrate Tarafder Md. Akhter Jamil led the mobile court in the drive and fined Tk. 3 lakh to Integrated Fishing Complex at Charipara in Katiadi upazila of Kishoreganj.
National Fisheries Week

Kishoreganj District Administration and Fisheries Department jointly arranged a discussion seminar, rally, prize distribution and postering marking the National Fisheries Week- 2016.
A discussion meeting was held at District Fisharies Office conference room on Monday.
Zila Parished Administration Advocate Md. Zillur Rahman attended as chief guest while District Fisharies Officer Md. Aminul Islam presided over .
Md. Shafiqul Islam, Deputy Director of Agriculture Department and Dr. Mohammad Ali, District Live Stock Officer were also present as special guests.
It was addressed among others by District Press Club President Mostafa Kamal, Senior Fisheries Officer Tofail Ahamed, Professor M.A Gani and Md. Khairul Mia.
Zila Parished Administrator Advocate Zillur Rahman said, the main object of the week is to put importance of optimum use of the under utilized water bodies so the country can produce additional 23 lakh tones of fishes in a year.
District Fisheries Officer call upon all to make fish cultivation a social movement.
Later, Zila Parished Administrator Advocate Zillur Rahman distributed prizes distributing among the owners of the fishery firms.
