4 drug stores fined for selling expired medicine

A mobile court on Sunday fined four pharmacies TK 72,500 for selling date expired medication in Laxmipur area of the city. The mobile court led by assistant commissioner and executive magistrate Shantunu Kumar Das and Nurer Zaman Chowdhury conducted the drive in the afternoon and found expired medicine in ‘M/S Medicine Bhandar’, ‘M/S Sorbokhon’, ‘M/S Padma’ and ‘M/S Arogyo Niketon’. Later, the mobile court fined the four shops Tk75,500. The expired medicine was also destructed.
View exchange meeting held in Tangail

Newly appointed SP of Tangail Mahbubul Alam PPM exchanged views with journalists in Tangail on Monday noon at his office. Additional Police Super (South) Aslam Khan, Senior Additional Police Super Md Firoj Khan, President of Tangail Press Club Jafor Ahmed, secretary Zakerul Moula were present on the occasion. Journalists working in Tangail in both print and electronic Medias were present on the occasion. Newly joined SP expressed his firm determination to curb terrorism, militancy, drug menace and other crimes. He sought journalists’ cooperation in decrease crimes from the society. Earlier Mahbubul Alam PPM served as Deputy Commissioner of DMP.
Body of youngman recovered from River Pashur

Dead body of a youngman named Md. Ibrahim (20), son of one Awal Fakir of Ward No.1 of Mongla Pourashava in Bagerhat district was recovered by the police of Mongla PS from the river Pashur under Mongla Upazila in Bagerhat district on July 10. It is stated that on July 8 at night Ibrahim and some other young men were drinking something intoxicating at Balurmath on the bank of the river Pashur near Mongla ferry ghat and at one stage he fell into the river and was drowned. It is learnt from the members of his family, Ibrahim did not no haw to swim. In the morning on July 10 fishermen found the decomposed dead body floating on the river and informed the police of the matter. Police recovered the dead body and sent to Bagerhat morgue for its autopsy.
Tree Fair to begin July 30 in Gaibandha
GAIBANDHA: A 7-day long fruit bearing, timber and medicinal tree fair will begin on Independence Square premises of the town here on July 30 amid much enthusiasm to all the concerned. Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) and Social Forest Department, Rangpur have jointly arranged the fair in cooperation with district administration in a bid to protect the environment from its degradation and to save the country from catastrophe of climate change. To make the fair a grand success, a preparatory meeting was also held at the conference room of district collectorate building here recently with deputy commissioner (DC) M. Abdus Samad in the chair while additional deputy commissioner (General) M. Shamsul Azam was the moderator, reports BSS.
