Baby drowns in Jessore

A two- year old baby drowned in a pond at Murali on the outskirts of Jessore town at around 9am on Sunday. The dead was identified as Jannatul Sania, 2, daughter of late Jalaluddin of Murali. Dolly Begum, mother of the victim told that the baby was declared dead by the attending doctor at Jessore Medical College Hospital after she has been taken there soon after she fell into a pond nearby her residence while she was playing there beside her mother. Dr Abdur Rashid, medical officer, Jessore Medical College Hospital told that the baby died before he has rushed to the hospital.
Seminar on “Special Need People Inclusion in TVET

A seminar on “Special Need People Inclusion in TVET” organised by Rangpur Polytechnic Institute was held at its conference room on Saturday. Mosaddek Hossain Bablu, Commander of Rangpur district unit of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad addressed the seminar as chief guest while Fakrul Kabir, Deputy Project Director, STEP was present as special guest. Syed Nuran Nabi, principal, Rangpur Polytechnic Institute, Rangpur presided over the seminar. Farid Uddin ahmed, vice principal, Rangpur Polytechnic Institute, Rangpur presented the keynote paper. The speakers said that the disabled people are not the burden of the society. They are asset of the country. They have the right to participate in all sectors of the society. Among others Educationist Shah Alam, Head of Computer department, Rangpur Polytechnic Institute and Convener of the seminar Fuad Md. Touhidul Ashraf, Abbas Ali and Rasheda also spoke on the occasion. Around two hundred disabled people from across the district attended the seminar.
RMP opens blood donor club
RAJSHAHI: Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) has opened a blood donor club yesterday with the main thrust of helping the emergency patients. The RMP organized the opening ceremony at Police line ground largely attended by its members. RMP Commissioner Md Shamsuddin, Additional Commissioner Sarder Tamiz Uddin, Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Tanveer Haider Chowdhury and Deputy Commissioner (West) Nahidul Islam spoke on the occasion. Deputy Commissioner (P&M) Tofayel Ahmed chaired the meeting. They urged the RMP people to donate blood spontaneously for helping the emergency patients whenever and wherever they need. Prior to the discussion, they took out a colourful procession to mark the occasion, reports BSS.
