Central Procurement Techinical Unit (CPTU) , a project of Planning Ministry and Kishoreganj District Administration jointly organised an advocacy workshop on Electronic Government Procurement at Kishoreganj Collectorate conference room on Tuesday. Md. Azimuddin Biswas, Deputy Commissione attended as Chief Guest while Deputy Director of Local Government Md. Jahirul Islam presided over. It was addressed among others by CPTU Communicator Senior Consultant Md. Shahidul Alam, Zila Parishad Administrator Adov Zillur Rahman, ADC (General) Tarafder Md. Akhter Jamil, BCCP Programme Coordinator Mamunur Rahman, BCCP Assistant Director Badal Halder, RHD Executive Engineer Md. Sahfiqul Islam, District Press Club President Mostafa Kamal and Senior Journalist Saiful Haque Mollah Dulu, District Level Officials, journalists , engineer and contractors also participated.

World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day-2016 was celebrated in the Sylhet district the globe on Sunday with a call to increase the services for the distressed and affected people during disasters. This year’s theme of the day was ‘Everywhere for Everyone’. Marking the day, Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS), Sylhet unit chalked out the elaborate programmes. In the morning, a colourful rally led by SCC Chief excutive Anamul Habib was brought out from in front of the unit office and ended at the same venue after parading the main roads of the town. Later, a discussion meeting was also held at the auditorium of matremangal Hospital of the City here withMonsurujjaman chawdhury, vice president of BDRCS, district unit, in the chair. SCC Chief excutive Anamul Habib addressed the meeting as the chief guest and Assistant Commissioner (land)Suhel mahmud were present at the event as the special guests.

District Information office with the co-operation of district administration organised a view exchange meeting on the publicity of branding the ten special initiative project programme of the present government was held at Deputy Commissioner’s conference room on Monday. The ten special initiative projects programme are Ekti Bari Ekti Khamar project, Asrayan project, Digital Bangladesh, Education support project, Women empowerment project, Social safety project, Community clinic and child display project, Investment extension project and Environment protection project. DC, Narsingdi Abu Hena Morshed Zaman Addressed the meeting as chief guest while Chief Executive of Zila parishad Mohammad Sidiqur Rahman and Civil Surgeon,Narsingdi Putul Roy addressed as special guests. With the chair of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Khandaker Nural Hoque, District Information officer Nasima Khaton presented the welcome speech. Chairmen of the upazila parishad, Nirbahi Officers of the upazila, Mayor of the pourashavas and members of the district co-ordination committee meeting were also present in the views of exchange meeting. The chief guest Abu Hena Morshed Zaman said, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken Branding the ten special initiative project for materializing the dream of Bangabandhu who had wanted to bring smile to the faces of the distressed people and ensuring a poverty and hunger free country for building Sonar Bangla. He urged the official concerned to be more dynamic and sincere for successful implementation of the projects..
