3 diagnostic centers fined Tk 70 thousand

A mobile court operated by district administration on Monday fined Tk 70 thousand against three diagnostic centres in the city. Sitesh Chandra Sarkar, executive magistrate of district administration, led the court accompanied by Dr. A F M Safiuddin, district civil surgeon, with the help of law enforcing agencies. Court sources said the fined three diagnostic centers were Lab Aid Diagnostics (Tk 55,000), Life City Scan (Tk.10, 000) and Apolo Diagnostic Center, Band Road Branch (Tk.5, 000). The actions were taken for operating the diagnostic centers without license, without trained certified manpower, without price list, without wearing apron, hand globes, without managing waste disposal system etc., said magistrate Sitesh Chandra Sarkar.  

40 Kgs venison recovered from Sharankhola area

 Members of the Coast Guard of the Western Zone deployed at Mongla recovered 40 kgs venison and a boat from Katlar Khal area of Supati near Sundarban forest under Sharankhola Upazila in Bagerhat district on Sunday night. The recovered venison and boat were handed over to Chandeswar Forest Office for taking necessary action. Lt. Fariduzzaman, Operation Officer of the Coast Guard of the Western Zone told, acting on a secret information the members of the coastguards raided Chander Khal area and recovered the venison and the boat. But the choppers of deer, some hoe, managed to escape. He added, the coastguards are always ready to discharge their duties in the sea and Sundarban forest with a view to protect the fishermen and the forest resources including the wild animals.

Mobile Court fined two lakh taka

A mobile court in a drive fined two lakh taka to a local dealer of Pran Group on Tuesday noon. It is known from the court sources that on getting secret information ,the court leaded by Upazilla Nirbahi Officer and executive magistrate Rajib Kumar Roy raided a shop situated at Foyla Bazar of Rampal.The court recovered date expired mango juice and other liquid instead of juice from the shop. For running unfair business ,the court arrested the local dealer named Golam Mostafizur Rahman ,son of Late Oliullah and Subrata Halder ,son of Jotish Chandra Halder and fined them under Consumers Protection Law 2009.

Two bodies of Sylhet boat capsize recovered

A fire fighter unit had recovered the dad bodies of two flautists on Friday afternoon from Goainghat upazila of Sylhet after they went missing as their boat was capsized in a canal of that area. The deceased were identified as Gopen Lohar and Nayon Nayek, 30. OC of Goainghat Police Station Delwar Hossain said the boat was capsized on Thursday night in the Darikandi Bokdar canal around 9pm after being struck by a storm. The boat was carrying seven members of a band party who were going to perform in a marriage function at Dariapar of the upazila. Five managed to swim and ashore but two others went missing following the mishap.

Mobile Court penalizes five shops in Kurigram

A mobile court realized Tk 50,000 fining five shops in Ulipur Bazar area in Ulipur upazila of the town on Tuesday. The shops were penalized for transacting business without any valid trade documents, selling date-expired medicines and stale foods. Mohini Medical shop has been penalized Taka 20,000 for having no valid documents, Laxmi Bakery Taka 10, 000, Hasib liquid shop Taka 2, 000, Pabna Vagga Laxmi sweet meet shop Taka 8, 000 and OK Hotel Taka 10, 000 for selling stale sweets in filthy and unhygienic atmosphere. All these shops are located in Ulipur Bazar under Ulipur upazila of the district.
