Farmers’ field school ends in Narsingdi

A 3-month month long farmers’ field school under the project of Integrated Farm Management Component (IFMC) concluded at Ashraf pur farmers field school premises here on Wednesday. In this regard Upazila Krishi Office, Shibpur arranged a farmers field day at Ashraf pur farmers field school premises. Deputy Director ,Department of Agriculture Extension ,Narsingdi Latafat Hossain addressed the field day as chief guest In his speech he in- details discussed on the Integrated Farm Management Component and importance of farmers field school. Shibpur upazila Krishi officer Nazmul Kabir and BSS Narsingdi District Correspondent Mohammad Abu Taher addressed the function as special guests. Among others Assistant Agriculture Plant protection officer. Shibpur Tofazal Hossain, Deputy Assistant Krishi officer Shohid ullah Afrad, Farmers Nasima Begum, Rashida Begum, Sadam Hossain and Amjad Hossain also addressed in the function. The Deputy Director(DD) then in the function chaired by a local farmer Mohammad Shoid ullah distributed the certificates among the fifty participants of the Ashraf pur Farmers field School.
One held with gold bars in Chuadanga

The Border guard Bangladesh personnel in Chudanha have arrested a gold smuggler with two gold bars containing the weight 619 grams of gold and a motor bike from a grave yard at Nastipur Border Observation Pharee (BOP) on Wednesday morning. The arrested was identified as Safiul Alam, 35, son of Rabiul Haque of the village.BGB -6 battalion director Mohammad Amir Majid said, acting on a tip off, a contingent of the BGB led by Habilder Tota Mia challenged the young man seized the contra banned from his possession. The gold was smuggled to India from nearest bordering area in Chuadanga, the BGB director said. The price of the seized gold was estimated at Taka 38,60,000. Legal steps willbe taken in this regard, the BGB official said.
