Ambassador Hossain Ali’s contribution in Liberation War recalled

 A seminar on contribution of Ambassador M.Hossain Ali to Liberation War of was held at Bhangura Press Club on Monday afternoon. Mofazzal Hossain Master, chairman of Hossain Ali Memorial Council presided over the seminar.
Among others, Md Shamsul Alom, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Bhangura, Gulam Hasnayen Rashel, Mayor of Bhagura Pouroshava,Md Shahiduzzaman,Principal of Haji Jamal Uddin Hons.College,Md Mahbub ul Alom,President of Bhangura Press Club, Freedom fighter ANM Mejbaur Rahman Rose,Awami Leage leader Jakir Hossain,Romjan Ali,Moqlesur Rahman syed,Head Teacher Rafiqul Islam spoke in the seminar. The speakers said, M.Hossain Ali was one of the organisers of the Liberation War of Independent Bangladesh. He hoisted the first flag of Independence on the foreign soil in India on April 18,1971. At that time, he was serving as Deputy High Commissioner of the Pakistan Embassy in Kolkata. Sixty Five officers and Employees under the leadership of Hossain Ali abdicated from Pakistan and declared their allegiance to the Mujibnagor revolutionary government. It was a great memorable historic event. To the Freedom fighters, it acts as a source of inspiration. In the meantime, he was appointed as the head of mission in India by Mujibnagar government. India helped Bangladesh not only by providing food and shelter to the refugees and politicians but also by giving training and weapons to the freedom fighters. It is worth noting that all those were managed by the then ambassador M Hossain Ali.

Graduation day held at BSMRAU

The graduation day of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU) for the students of Bachelor of Science (Agriculture) program 8th batch, Bachelor of Science (Fisheries) programme 4th batch and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine& Animal Science (DVM) 1st batch was held on Wednesday at the University Begum Sufia Kamalauditorium. Prof. Dr. Md. Mahbubar Rahman VC of the University expressed welcome and congratulations to the newly graduate students and formally announced the result of BS (Agriculture), BS (Fisheries) and DVM. The Vice-Chancellor also distributed a memento of the University and provisional certificate to the graduate students. Earlier , Prof. Dr. Qazi Abdul Khaliq Dean Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Md. Zahangir Alam Dean Faculty of Fisheries and Prof. Dr. Md. Morshedur Rahman Dean, faculty of Veterinary Medicine& Animal Science formally handed over the results of BS (Agril.), BS (Fish.) and DVM to the Vice-Chancellor respectively. Treasurer of the university Prof. Dr. Md. Ismail Hossain Mian delivered his speech and Registrar Prof. Dr. Md. Tofazzal Hossainalso delivered the welcome address. Student Anika Nazran BS (Agril.), Kaniz Fatema Kanon BS (Fish.) and Jahangir Alam of DVM achieved the highest GPA and expressed their feelings.

Fake physician held, clinic sealed off in Jhenaidah

A fake physician was arrested by a mobile court in Sailkupa of Jhenaidah on Tuesday noon. The court awarded 15 days imprisonment to the so called physician Goutam Adhikary and fined Taka 30 thousand to the clinic owner. The court also sealed off the clinic Swapna Clinic and Diagnostic Centre at Kabirpur under Sailkupa upazila. Assistant Commissioner of Land, also an executive magistrate Sumi Majumder said, acting on a tip off, the mobile court conducted a drive in the noon and challenged the so called physician Goutam Adhikary, son of Gobinda Adhikary of Shibrampur village of Magura. He has been running his illegal profession identifying him self as an MBBS physician for last four years.
As Goutam failed to produce any valid documents in-favour of him, the court arrested him and awarded 15 days imprisonment. The clinic owner was fined for a sum of Taka 30 thousand. The court also sealed off the clinic.
