Rangpur Pain Paralysis, General Hospital inaugurated

Rangpur Pain Paralysis and General Hospital was inaugurated at Dhap Kellaband Hajipara area in the city on Friday.
Rangpur City mayor Sarfuddin ahmed Jhantu formally inaugurated the hospital as the chief guest while the director and chairman of the hospital Tofael Alam presided over the inaugural ceremony. Among others Additional Police Super Rangpur Zakir Hossain, President of Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry Abul Kashem and Managing Director of the hospital Dr. Tashiqul Islam Sohag also spoke on the occasion.
Farmers expecting bumper production of ground nut in Manikganj
MANIKGANJ: The ground nut cultivators in Manikganj district are expecting bumper production in the current season. The sandy char areas of the Padma and the Jamuna of the district are known as ground nut cultivation zone which is situated in the western and southern parts of the district.
The local sources said the vast sandy lands under Daulatpur upazila which used to remain uncultivated for a long time for less fertility and frequent erosion, now is covered with green ground nut plants. The experts in the department of agriculture extension in Manikganj said they fixed a target of ground nut cultivation in 2050 hectares of land during the current season and the target was achieved. The sources said in the last year a total of 1,671 hectares of land was brought under ground nut cultivation in the district. This year the target was increased by more than 311 hectares, reports BSS.
7 sections of proposed Education Act 2016 protested

Barisal divisional unit of Bangladesh Book Publishers and Sellers Association observed daylong strike and handed over memorandum to administration protesting 7 sections of proposed Education Act 2016 related with note, guide and other types of learning associated books. Besides closing libraries, book shops from upazila to divisional towns, leaders of the association also handed over memorandum to district and upazila administrations on Monday noon. Delwar Hossain Rupak, president of the Barisal unit of the association, said the seven sections and sub-sections i.e. sections 2(31),7(6,9,11,12),21(5,6) of the proposed Education Policy 2016, will not only hamper their business, but also will make severe problems in all level of education. Because all infrastructures of our education system including admission, examination, result, teaching, curriculum, books, yet to be revised, reconstructed and standardised like the education policy and acts of other developed countries, Rupak explained.
