Dacoity committed in night coach in Fakirhat

A daring dacoity was committed in a passenger night coach of Grameen Paribahan on Dhaka-Khulna via Fakirhat Highway near at Fakirhat Mor (squire) under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district in the early hours on Thursday. In this connection the driver and two others were arrested by the police of Fakirhat PS. The passenger coach was going from Dhaka to Khulna via Mollahat and Fakirhat and 6 dacoits boarded the coach in the guise of passengers from Dhaka and 3 others boarded it from Mollahat and when the coach reached the place of occurrence suddenly, they turned into armed dacoits and attacked the innocent passengers, looted cash, mobiles, gold ornaments and other valuables from the passengers at the point of daggers and fled away. One passenger named Abdul Wahab living in Saudi Arbaia was stabbed by the dacoits when he tried to resist them. He was admitted to Mollahat Upazila Health Complex for treatment. In this connection a case was lodged with Fakirhat PS.
4 fish cats found in Kotchandpur

The local people of Kotchandpur under Jhenaidah caught four fish cats including the mother from Manikdidhi village on Wednesday morning. The wild animals are now taken shelter to the house of the village. Locals said, they were informed that a number of fish cats entered in to Manikdihi village and moving here and there in the area. They made trap and maanged to catch three kids from a jungle. Later the locals aalso caught the mother of the kids from the same jungle. They were kept in the house of a villager for safety.. Forest Ranger of the department of forestry Nazrul Islam when contacted said, he was informed about catching the fish cats and trying to bring them to his office for next course of action.. The Forest Ranger admitted that a fish cat was caught by the people of Mandarbaria village in the upazila which was handed over to the officials of the wild life department in Khulna on April 4.
Two jailed in Gournadi for adopting unfairmeans in HSC exam

Two including an examinee jailed for adopting unfair means by collecting questions and supplying answers through mobile phone at Gournadi Government Girls School Center under Barisal Education Board on Thursday. The sentenced two were Joydev Das, son Dulal Das, a HSC examinee of Gournadi Government College and his friend Alamin Molla, son of Mosharraf Molla, a student of degree class of that college. Each of them were sentenced to two-year imprisonment and sent to Barisal jail on Thursday afternoon. Mahbub Alam, upzila nirbahi officer of Gournadi led the mobile court.
‘Robber’ held with arms, ammo in Faridpur
FARIDPUR: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested an alleged robber along with one foreign-made pistol, one shutter gun, two magazines and three rounds of bullet on the Magura-Faridpur highway in Madhukhali upazila early Saturday. Major Abdullah Al Hasan, deputy commander of Faridpur Rab, said tipped off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive on the highway and arrested Khairuzzaman Khwaja while he was taking preparation for committing robbery at about 1:00am. The law enforcers also recovered one foreign-made pistol, one shutter gun, two magazines and three rounds of bullet from his possession.

The arrestee was wanted in 14 cases, including for murder and robbery, with Kotwali Police Station, the major added, reports UNB.
