Press briefing on success of govt held in Narsingdi

A press briefing organized by Narsingdi district Information office at Narsingdi Press Club hall room on Tuesday evening to inform on the success, achievement and development of the government. Badal Kumar Shah, senior Vice President of the press club presided over the press briefing while Nasima Khaton District Information officer presented the briefing on the success, achievement and development of the government. Nasima said after achieving lower middle income status, Bangladesh now marching towards a middle income nation following successful digitization in the government service delivery system to accelerate the pace of national development. She said the government under the leadership of Prime Minister sheikh Hasina achieved tremendous success in different sectors including agriculture, health, education, power, road communication and environment protection during the last seven years. Moderated by Sanjida Amin, Assistant Information officer the function was addressed among others by member of press club Joynal Abadin,Ashadul Hoque Polash, Priti Ranjan Shaha, Jasim uddin, Hamidul Hoque Ahad and Tofazzal Hossain. They also appreciated the success, achievement and development of the government.

Chapainawabganj municipality took out a joy procession in the town on Wednesday morning for its being included in the Urban Governance Infra-structure Improvement Project (UGIIP)-3. The procession started from the municipality office and after parading the main roads of the town it ended at the same venue. After the procession a short rally was held there and it was addressed by acting mayor of the municipality Md. Saidur Rahman, councilor Ziaur Rahman Arman and Executive Engineer Md. Sadequl Islam. The speakers hailed the prime minister Sheikh Hasina, minister for Local Government and Rural Development Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, local law maker Abdul Wadud and other concerned for including Chapainawabganj municipality in the UGIIP-3. While contacted, executive engineer Md. Sadequl Islam said, meanwhile, the tender for the construction of 18.75 kilometres road and 3 kilometres drain in the municipal areas has been floated. The project is being implemented under UGIIP-3 at a cost of Tk. 15 crore at the first phase funded by the Government of Bangladesh (GOB), Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Opec Fund for International Development (OFID), he added. He further added that further allocation for the second phase of the project would be given after the successful completion of the first phase.
