Women killed in train mishap in Bogra

An elderly woman died from train-cut at Naluri area of Bogra-Gaibandha rail-route in Bogra town area on Monday noon. The deceased was identified as Parul Kundu, 65, wife of Birendranath Kundu of Dattabari area of Bogra town. Witness said that she was walking parallel with the rail-route in the area and meanwhile Thakurgaon-bound Seven-up named local train was crossing the area and the train repeated rang horn but the deceased did not move near the rail-track and the deceased immediately died just after the cut. Sub-inspector (SI) of Government Railway Police (GRP) of Bogra GRP police station Bimol Kumar said that the accident was occurred at Naruli area at around 11 am on Monday.
The dead body was sent to the Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital (SZMCH)’s morgue for autopsy and an unnatural death case was filed with the police station on that day noon, added the SI.
Freedom fighter stabbed to death

One freedom fighter was stabbed to death by identified miscreants at Batrish area in the town of the district over land dispute recently. The victim was identified as Shukendra Kumar Paul (68) a freedom fighter and businessman of Barabazar in Sadar upazila under Kishoreganj District. Additional Police Super Liton Kumar Saha visited the spot. The dead body was sent to 250- Bed Zilla Hospital morgue for autopsy. A case was filed against 6 criminals in this connection with Kishoreganj Model Police Station.
Bar Association meeting held
The annual budget meeting of Kishoreganj District Bar Association was held at its conference room on Tuesday. Bar President and Public Prosecutor Adv Shah Azizul Hoque prisided over the meeting. Bar Secretary Md. Shahidul Alam Shahid read out the annual report. Later , he placed the budget for the next fiscal year. Budget showed expected income tk 1 core 67 lakh 34 thousand 416 and expenditure Tk 1 core 50 lac 8 thousand 100 with a surplus budget of Taka 17 lakh 26 thousand 316. It was addressed among others by Former Bar President Adv Miah Md. Ferdous, Senior Adv Bhupendra Chandra Bhoumick Dulon, Mozammel Hoque Khan, Adv Mohammad Ali Bhuiyan & Adv M.A. Rashid.
Free eye care camp held in Sylhet

Greater Lamakazi Welfare Association, UK organised a free eye care camp in Mogholgown Union Complex Sadar upazila of Sylhet on Wednesday. Greater Lamakazi Welfare Association, UK president Dewlath Khan, as the chief guest inaugurated the eye camp. Doctor of Jalalabad eye hospital Dr. Abdul Motin, Greater Lamakazi Welfare Association, UK in Bangladesh former president Shanur Hossain, Lutfur Rahman Selim, Al Ekhuan Somaj Kollan Songstha president Kawsar Ahmed, Master Aktar Hossain, Shams Uddin, Gias Uddin, Dilwar Hossain were present as special guests at the function. A total of 150 eye patients received specialist doctors’ prescriptions along with free medicines and glasses at the camp.
Two arrested in Mongla

A young man and a young woman who boarded a residential hotel at Mongla Port town in the district to live together as husband and wife were arrested by the prosaic police on Sunday night. In this connection a case was lodged with Mongla PS. Police and the manager of hotel Al-Amin, situated on Abdul Hye Sarak of the port town that at the night at about 8 pm a young couple along with a baby arrived the hotel, registered their names as husband and wife, booked Room No,.205 and informed the manager that they would leave the hotel in the early morning for Dhaka. After the registration of their names the manager sent the list of the boarders to Mongla PS. Then ASI Mostafa of Mongla PS went to the hotel for checking. In the face of interrogation the couple admitted to the police that they were not husband wife. The young man is Faruk, son of one Abdur Rahman of village Burburia under Mongla Upazila and the young woman is Mina Begum, daughter of one Ashwab Ali of village Pakhimara Bastala under the same Upazila. They registered false names in the register of the hotel.
32 injured in Dinajpur road accident
DINAJPUR: At least 32 passengers were injured in a road accident at Vimpur crossing on the Phulbari-Rangpur road under Phulbari upazila of the district on Tuesday. Police said the accident occurred when a bus plunged into a roadside ditch as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving 32 passengers injured. The injured were admitted to different hospitals of the district, reports BSS.
