Jhenaidah UP chairman among 20 arrested in vandalize, attack cases

The police on Saturday night have arrested 20 persons including the chairman of Naldanga Union Parishad Rabiul Islam for their alleged involvement in three cases for vandalize, village clash and attacking. They were arrested in separate drives at different areas of the upazila. Jhenaidah police officer in charge Hasan Hafizur Rahman said, Rabiul was arrested from his resident in the town, while remaining 19 from Vteswara and Jatrapur in Jhenaidah Sadar upazila.
Acquiring knowledge on ICT stressed
The law maker of Jhenaidah -1 constituency Abdul Hyee said, the overall development o education or any other sector can not be ensured if the modern technology especially, information and communications technology is not applied there. The law maker was speaking at function arranged by the upazila secondary education office following the inauguration of 125 Upazila Training and Resource Centre for Education by the Prime Minister Saikh Hasina on Wednesday morning. Presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Sailkupa Didarul Alam Abdul Hyee was speaking as chief guest. The chief guest said, the dream implementer and also the daughter of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Saikh Muzibur Rahman, the Prime Minster’s government achieving success each and every sector in her tenures as the country is on the way to remove illiteracy, poverty and inequality.
Fire at Osmani Medical College girls’ hostel

The girls hostels of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College caught fire on Friday afternoon. Fire service officials said the fire originated from an electrical short circuit in a room of the Hostels around 5:30pm and it engulfed several adjacent rooms. On information, a fire-fighting unit rushed in and doused the blaze after one hour. Principle of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Dr. Murshed Ahmed Chawdhury Confirmed the Metter. He visited the Spot on Friday night.
Two held for violating school girl after abduction

Police operating drive at Barodulali village under Gournadi upazila of Barisal district on early Monday arrested two persons for violating a school girl after kidnapping . The arrested two were Abdul Kader Sardar, 22, the alleged rapists and Zaherjan Fakir, 26, his associate. Victim sent to Barisal Sher-e- Bangla Medical College Hospital for medical test and recording confessional statement before the judicial official on Monday. On other hand, the arrested two accused placed before judicial magistrate court at Barisal on Monday noon and Md. Shihabuddin, magistrate of the court, rejecting their bail prayer sent them to jail at afternoon, the police sources said.
Two arrested with deer’s skin in Barguna
BARGUNA: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) -8 in a drive arrested two persons from a residence at Taltola in Patharghata upazila on Saturday. RAB also recovered 10 pieces of deer skin from their possession. The arrested persons were identified as Masud Parvez, 40, of Dhaka and Masud Karim, 42, of Narsingdi district. RAB sources said on a tip-off, a team of elite force raided the house and arrested them with the skin in the yesterday evening, reports BSS .
