HR activist beaten by drug traders in Ashulia

A human rights activist was beaten by drag traders at Vadail area of Ashuia recently. On protest this incident, National Crime Observation and Legal Aid Society of Savar upazila branch arranged a press conference on Monday afternoon at North Vadail area of Ashuia. In presence of Hamid Vhuiy, President of the organisation Md. Jakir Hossain, vice president of the organization, and victim of the incident read written statement at the press conference. In the statement, they mentioned that on 13, April morning in leading of Kobir son of Abdul Korim and Asad son of Dr. Imam who are marked drag traders of the area, a gang of miscreants forcibly entered at Jakir’s home and beating him while he ignored to give contribution which they demanded from him before. A general diary was filed with Ashulia police station in this connection.

10 injured while cutting govt trees in Sonatola

At least 10 persons were seriously injured by miscreants attack with lethal weapon at Shalikha village of Modhupur union under Sonatola of Bogra district recently. The assaulted are identified as Mukul Hossain,20, Mahidul Islam,34, son of Mozaffor Hossain, Bebi Begum,35, Rasheda,17, Morsheda,22, Mobiton Begum,55, Mozaffor Hossain and others Shalikha village of the upazila. Local rushed to the spot hearing shouting and admitted them Sonatola sadar health complex. Police said a group of miscreants, led by Dolar,25, son of Muglu,Tarun,18, son of Kafi( local member of UP)Anisur,25, son of Abzal Hossai,Munu,,30, son of Latif, Mosiur Rahman,25, son fo Azadul Shalikha village attack of the assaulted when they hinder not to cut the government trees beside the road. Among locals Zahura Begum, Sokir Uddin, Asalot Hossain, Azizur Rahman said these miscreants used to cut down heartlessly. They don’t inform police or administration as the miscreants threaten them.
One killed in Faridpur road crash
FARIDPUR: One motor bike rider was killed and another co-rider received injuries when the Magura bound motor bike was knocked from rear by a Jessore bound truck Monday afternoon near Bagat under Madhukhali upazilla on Dhaka-Khulna highway. According to Madhukhali police one Rubel Sheikh, 25, and his co- rider Moslem were going to Magura for personal business. On their way the bike was hit from behind by a goods laden truck. As a result Rubel, son of Hashenm Sheikh of Bazar Kandi of Madhukhali sadar area died on the spot receiving serious head injuries. Co-rider Moslem was shifted to Madhukhali upazilla hospital for treatment. The truck was seized by police but the driver managed to escape. A case was registered with Madhukhali police in this connection, reports BSS.
DGFI personnel killed in Rajshahi train crush
RAJSHAHI : A DGFI personnel was crushed by a train in Kodomtala railway crossing under Boalia Police Station in Rajshahi city yesterday afternoon. The victim was Mozaffar Hossain, 30, son of Nazir Uddin hailed from Narayanpur village in Parbatipur Upazila of Dinajpur district. He was a sainik of Rajshahi DGFI. Quoting witnesses’ police said a Chapainawabganj-bound commuter train crushed Mozaffar Hossain while he was crossing railway track at around 4pm. He was going to Rajshahi Cantonment from his office in the city’s Miapara area, said Sunil Kumar Ghosh, Officer-in-Charge of Rajshahi GRP Police Station. Soon after the accident, local people sent him to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) with serious injuries where the attending doctors declared him dead. Meanwhile, the body was sent to his village home last midnight after post mortem in RMCH, reports BSS.
