Implementation works of TR progressing in C’danga
CHUADANGA: The implementation works of 555 schemes under Test Relief program in all the four upazilas of the district are progressing fast at a total cost of 1,242 tonnes of rice. Ministry of relief and disaster management has been implementing the schemes. The district relief and disaster management office source said of the total 126 schemes are being implemented in Sadar upazila, 14 schemes in Chuadanga pourashava, 153 schemes in Alamdanga upazila, 08 schemes in Alamdanga pourashava, 142 schemes in Damurhuda upazila, 10 schemes in Darsana pourashava, 96 schemes in Jibannagar upazila and 06 schemes in Jibannagar pourashava.The source added of the total schemes so far 95 percent implementation works of 23 schemes, 90 percents works of 261 schemes, 50 percent works of 06 schemes and 35 percents works of the 265 schemes has been completed, reports BSS.
LGED Chief Engineer visits vital dev. projects

Local Govt. Engineer Department (LGED) Chief engineer Shyama Prasad Adhikari visited different under construction development projects in Nuilphamari on Thursday. During the visit, the Chief engineer was accompanied by additional chief engineer of Rangpur division Azizur Rahman, Superintendent engineer of Dinajpur region Rezaul Karim, executive engineer of LGED in Nilphamari Belal Hossain, sador upazila engineer Md Saiful Islam and others. Various project directors also were present with him at that time. As his first programme, the chief engineer visited the construction work of Charalkata bridge over the charalkata river at Bajitpara point of Nilphamari- Kishorganj road. Later, he visited the under construction four storied diabetic hospital at Polashbari village on Nilphamari -Domar road.
Sundari , Gewa wood seized in Sharankhola

Forest guards of Sharankhola Range in the Eastern Division of Sundarban forest raided two separate places and seized 900 CFT cut band Sundari and Gewa wood worth Tk.5 lakh was seized recently. ACF and Ranger of Sharankhola said that acting on secret information forest guards of Bogi station office raided Chanmari area of the forest range on Wednesday and recovered 400 CFT Sundari wood ready for smuggling purposed. On Monday at night forest guards of Sharankhola range raided the river Baleswar at Majher char aarea, seized a mechanized boat and recovered 500 CFT Gewa wood. At that time the wood smugglers jumped into the river from the mechanized boat and fled away. The ACF of Sharankhola range told the newsmen, 5 wood smugglers who hail from Bogi and Sonatala villages, adjacent to Sundarban forest, who were involved in the smuggling were identified and a case was lodged with the local PS against them under Forest Act. They are Rafiqul Farjai (2), Delwar Khalifa (45), Zakir Majhi (48), Mantu Hawldar ( 35) and Faruk Hawladar (45).
Young man convicted for teasing girl
A mobile court headed by Md. Farid Hossain, Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate of Chitalmari Upazila in Bagerhat district convicted a young man named Zakir Hossain, son of one late Mokbul Hossain of village Rahanmatpur under the Upazila and sentenced him to suffer simple imprisonment for one year on the charge of teasing and taunting a girl student. Police said , on Thursday the convicted person teased and taunted a girl student of Rahamatpur Collegiate School under the Upazila in front of the institution a teacher of the school who noticed the matter caught the debauched fellow and handed over him to the police. Police brought him before the court of Md. Farid Hossain, Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate of Chitalmari.
