Driver killed in Jhenaidah road accident

A driver of three wheeler better known as Grambangla autovan was killed when his wheeler overturned on the road at Katlamari-Boruria Battala under Sailkupa upazila in Jhenaidah on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Al Amin, 30, son of Nawab Ali of Goyeshpur village under Sripur upazila of Magura. Sailkupa police officer in charge Mahibul Islam said, Al Amin was marching towards Kushtia with some passengers. At around 11.00 AM when he arrived near the spot, he ,lost control over the three wheeler and skidded of the road leaving him dead on the spot. A case was filed witj Sailkaupa police in this connection and the body was sent to Jhenaidah Sadar hospital morgue for post mortem examination, the police said.
51 GPA-5 achievers get award in Rangpur

Rangpur Leaf Region of Dhaka Tobacco Tuesday noon awarded prizes to 51 students, who achieved GPA-5 in Primary School Certificate (PSC) Examination 2015. 51 students of 21 primary schools in Mominpur union under Rangpur Sadar upazila got the award for achieving GPA-5 in a programme at Kobi Dilruba Shahadat VIP High School in Mominpur. Rangpur Leaf Region of Dhaka Tobacco organised the programme.In the program, 51 students were given certificate, school bag and other educational ingredients.Asik Ahad, assistant education officer in Rangpur Sadar upazila was present as chief guest in the ceremony. The chief guest said at present, the educational ingredients have become very expensive, so the upper class in our society should extend their financial support for educating the poor and brilliant students. The brilliants will turn into valuable assets in the country if they are given proper financial support. Presided over by, Md Mahbub Alam, former chairman of Mominpur union, SM Mofizul Islam, regional manager of Rangpur Leaf Region of Dhaka Tobacco, Shamsur Rahman Liton, regional manager of Dhaka Tobacco and Md Anayetullah, project coordinator of Rangpur Dinajpur Rural Service (RDRS), Bangladesh were present as special guests.
Schoolgirl killed in Sylhet road crash

A schoolgirl was killed as a bus hit her at Lalabazar on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in the Dakshin Surma on Wednesday morning.The deceased was Asma Begum, 15, a student of class ten of Police Line High School and daughter of Altaf Hossain of the same area. Officer In charge of Dakshin Surma Police Station Ataur Rahman said the accident occurred when a bus hit Asma in the area at about 9 am as she was waiting beside the road, leaving her dead on the spot
Son kills father in Chuadanga

A drunk man was allegedly beaten to death by his son at Kanaidanga village under Damurhuda in Chuadanga district on Monday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Nazrul Islam (48), son of late Abdur Sattar of the village.
Eye witnessed said, Nazrul was habituated to drug. After drinking liquor, he returned home and was locked in an altercation with his wife Malaka Khatun over the issue. At one stage son zahid hit his father’s head with a stick, leaving him seriously injured. Locals rushed him to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital where he died at 5 pm. Zahid went into hiding after the incident.
