FP advocacy campaign held in Kishoreganj

I.E.M unit of Family Planning Department organised an advocacy campaign with journalists at Kishoreganj 250- Bed General Hospital conference hall on Thursday. Deputy Director of Md. Alauddin Ahmed presided over the advocacy campaign. Civil Surgeon Dr. Muklesur Rahman and Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Habibur Rahman attended as chief and special guest. It was addressed among others by Dr. Rushan Akhter Jahan, Dr. Dulal Shaha, District Press Club President Alam Sarowar Tito, Former Press Club President A.K Nasim Khan, Senior Advocate A.B.M Lutfur Rashid Rana, Journalist Ashraful Islam, Abdul Khabir and Nazrul Islam Khairul. At least 25 journalists attended the advocacy workshop.

Proxy examinee held for cheating during RAKUB exam

An examinee was detained on charge of adopting unfair means in the written recruitment exam of Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) for the post of officer that held at Rajshahi University (RU) on Friday.The detainee was identified as Abdus Salam son of Abdus Sattar of Alamdanga under Chuadanga district. He has already finished his master’s from economics department of Jagannath University. Ashak Chawhan, the officer-in-charge of investigation of Motihar Police station, said the invigilators caught him and handed over to police.

BRU observes 16th founding anniv

The members of Barisal Reporters Unity on Thursday noon observing 16th anniversary of founding BRU called for immediate implementation of Wage Board and unity among the journalists. A programme of cutting cake presided by Anisur Rahman Swapan, President BRU, was arranged on the occasion at BRU premises. Dr. Gazi Md. Saifuzzaman, deputy commissioner Barisal, was chief guest of the programme conducted by Kamrul Ahsan, secretary BRU. Dr Muhsin Uddin, Social Science Faculty Dean of Barisal University, Shamsul Alam Azad, Principal Narayanganj Charukala Institute, Nandita Acharya, writer, Nurul Alam Farid, journalist, Humayun Kabir, Barisal Television Media Unit president, representatives from different print and electronic media attended the programme.

2 drug peddlers arrested with Yaba tablets in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two alleged drug traders with 1760 Yaba tablets from Nawdapara Bus Stand area under Shah Mukhdum Police Station in the city early hours today, RAB sources here said.
The detained persons were identified as Abul Kalam alias Kabir, 38, son of Noyan Bishwas and Ali Hossain, 24, son of Mohabbat Ali. They are the residents of Mujib Nagar Upazila of Meherpur district. On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a sudden raid in the area at around 5.30 am and arrested them with 1760 yaba tablets, Taka 10,000 in cash and two mobile phone sets, reports BSS.
