Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) Kishoreganj District Conference was held at Kishoreganj Press Club Conference Hall on Thusday noon. JSD central leader Begum Lutfa Taher, M.P inaugurated the Conference. Awami League Leader Rajowan Ahamed Tofiq M.P. , JSD Standing Committee Member Professor Dr. Mustaq Hossain, JSD Organising Secretary Showkat Rayhan attended as special guest while District President Adv. Nazrul Islam Noru presided over .It was addressed among others by CAB President Alam Sarowar Titu, Women leader Bilkis Begum, Advocate Rakib Ahamed and Sharfuddin Ahamed Shohel. A new committee was formed with Advocate Nazrul Islam Nuro as President, Acting President Alam Sarowar Tito, Rakib Ahamed as General Secretary and Sharfuddin Ahamed Shohel as Organizing Secretary respectively.
Legal aid, ADR advocacy workshop held
Kishoreganj District Legal- Aid Committee arranged a seminar on legal-aid and A.D.R Advocacy held at District Judge Court Conference Room on Wednesday evening. State Minister for Labour and Manpower Md. Mojibul Haque Channu MP attended as Chief Guest while Sr. District and Session Judge Md. Mahabub- Ul- Islam Freedom Fighter presided over. Rejowan Ahamed Tofiq M.P, Amjal Hossain, MP and Adv Sorab Uddin M.P attended as special guests. It was addressed among others by Zilla Parishad Administrator Adv Md. Zillur Rahman, Acting Police Super Sayeed Abu Sayem, Special Judge Md. Awaled Hossain Bhuiyan, C.J.M Md. Abdus Salam Additional District Abdur Rahman, A.D.M Mahabub Shahin, Bar President Adv Shah Aziz, Senior Sub- Judge & Legal Aid Officer Md. Zakir Hossain and Popi NGO Manager Saiful Kuddus. Housewife found dead in Sylhet

A house wife hanged body was recovered from her house at village Sandoshir Kapon in Biswanath upazila on Saturday morning. The dead was identified as Happy Begum, 22, Wife of Bulbul Ahmed. Happy’s family members found her hanging from the Tree Inside of her room on Saturday night and informed local police station. Police recovered the body on Saturday morning.
3 policemen injured in Sunamganj clash

Three policemen were injured in a clash between policemen and local fishermen at Berberia beel (water body) in Tahirpur upazila rerecently. Berberia beel falls under Tanguar haor, a unique wetland ecosystem and a protected area. Police said the clash ensued when the law enforcers challenged some local fishermen who went to Berberia beel allegedly for illegal fishing. At one point, the fishermen attacked the policemen with home-made sharp weapons, leaving three of the personnel injured. The injured were bring the situation under control. Later, police arrested three admitted to Tahirpur Upazila Health Complex. Officer-in-charge of Tahirpur Police Station Md Shahidullah said Police fired 19 rounds of bullets in the air to fishermen – Mainuddin, 35, Rubel Mia, 26, and Maidul, 34 — of Rupnagar village in Dharmapasha upazila in this connection.
Men held for raping minor girl in Jessore
BENAPOLE: Police arrested a man for allegedly violating a minor girl at Abadkachia village in Sadar upazila of Jessore district on Saturday morning. Officer-in charge of Sadar Police Station Elias Hossain said Faruk Hossain, 55, a resident of the village, lured the minor girl away into his room with sweet and raped her there around 9am. Later, family members rescued the victim after hearing her scream, confined Faruk and thrashed the rapist. Being informed by locals, police rushed in and arrested Faruk. A case was filed against Faruk in this connection, reports UNB.
