Jhenaidah Veterinary College students form human chain

The students of Jhenaidah Government Veterinary College on Wednesday noon formed human chain at the District Post Office intersection in the town demanding enrollment of the college under Jessorte Science and Technology Institute. Agriculturist Ahmed Ali, human rights activist Principal Aminur Rahman Tuku, Ashraful Alam, Rana Hamid, Fahim Hasan, Lubna Mahfuz Mishuk, Jahid Hasan, Abdus Sama and Tanzina Sharmin Hema among others spoke during the human chain. The speakers said, Jhenaidah Government Veterinary College was established as the model of four other universities like Chittagong, Sylhet, Dinajpur and Barishal Government Veterinary College.
3 fishermen jailed, one fined for netting Jatka in Barisal

Three fishermen were jailed in Muladi upazila town and one was fined at Barisal city fish market in two separate drives against netting Jatka on Wednesday. Bimal Chandra Das, District fFshery (Hilsa) officer said more than 2,600 kilogram Jatka were recovered during the drive and distributed among the distressed people. Jahangir Hossain, Muladi upazila fishery officer, said fishery department along with police operating drive on Arialkha River detained three fishermen with 60 maunds (about 2,300 Kg) Jatka from a trawler on Wednesday early morning. Then the detained fishermen were produced before a mobile court at noon. Abdullah Al Masud, Muladi upazila nirbahi officer and magistrate of the mobile court, sentenced Md. Shahin, Md. Sohag and Aiub Ali Bagha, each of the three fishermen to one-year imprisonment.
Miscreant cut valuable trees of Rly Line in Bhangoora

 Valuable trees are being cut down by some miscreants from the rail line near Kaidanga under Bhangoora upazila on Ishwardi to Sirajganj route . According to local people at night trees are being cut down and trafficked by the order of one Ward Awami League leader. Forrest officer Abdul Quddus confirmed the news and said that two Eucaliptus trees worth Tk.12 thousand were kept on rail line for trafficking .
Nat’l Primary Edn Week observed in Monirampur

National Primary Education Week is being observed in Monirampur Upazila from February 4. One the opening day Upazila Chairman Amzad Hossain Lavlu was attended as chief gust and inaugurated the week at a ceremony arranged at Primary Education Office Court yard. According to the relevant departmental source the weeks program were observed separately every School throughout the Upazila. On Monday of the week upazila administration was organized a educational inputs fair. Presided over by upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Kamrul Hasan, Upazila Chairman Amzad Hossain Lavlu was attended as chief gust and distributed prizes among the best stole owner. Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. 6 suspected robbers held in Comilla
COMILLA: Police in a drive arrested six suspected members of a robber gang from Chowrasta area in Homna upazila early Thursday. During the drive, four policemen of Homna police station, including officer-in-charge Abul Faysal, were injured. Tipped off, a team of police launched a drive in the area and intercepted two CNG-run auto-rickshaws, carrying the gang members, while they were going to Homna from Gouripur in the dead of night, the OC said. The law enforcers chased off the robbers and later arrested six of them while their other associates managed to flee, reports UNB.
