Cargo collides with train at Gafargaon

The loaded cargo collided with a train at Gafargaon station on Sunday. At this the train was stopped for about 40 minutes. Police detained the cargo. This incident happened .at the Railway outer point adjacent to leather godown of the Municipality area. Sources said, on Sunday noon train coming from Mymensingh touched Gafargaon station. After leaving the station the train crossed the outer signal point adjacent to leather godown, coming from the same direction loaded cargo of Pran company (Dhaka Metro-A-14-1083) collided with the train. At that time the train driver stopped the train by crying of the passengers. At this many lives of the passengers are saved. After that the train went to back of the station and the cargo left the spot. Then the train again left the station.
One killed in Sylhet boat capsize

A worker was killed as a sand-laden boat capsized in the river at Didaighat area in Sylhet on Monday. The deceased was identified as Faez Uddin, 25, a worker and son of Habidul Haque of Charikata union. Witnesses said, Faez went missing after the sand-laden boat suddenly sank in the river at Didaighat area at about 1pm. On information, police and divers rushed to the spot and recovered his body after a long time of search. Borolekha (OC ) Abul Hashem said to be planning to sabotage the camp became a federation cadres had gathered kathalatali a home – where police raided a news . Properties worth TK5 lakh gutted in Chitalmari

Properties worth Tk. 5 lakh were completely gutted when a fire broke out in the house of one Wadud Munshi of village Baraguni within Barabaria Union under Chitalmari Upazila in Barisal on Saturday in the evening, according to a report received here. Source added that in the evening the fire originated from an electricity short circuit in the dwelling house of one Wadud Munshi of the village engulfed it within moments and spread to its adjacent kitchen and went out of control. The local people and the villagers rushed to the spot and tried to extinguish the fire, but in vain. As a result, both the two houses with their all belongings were burnt to ashes. The loss of fire is estimated at Tk.5 lakh.. The fire rendered all the members of the affected family homeless. Being informed of the matter Sshaikh Rashed Mukul newly elected Vice-chairman of Chitalmari Upazila Parishad and Chairman of Rustam Ali Foundation visited the place of occurrence on the following day and donated some cash Taka to the affected members of the family.

Hundreds of worshipers of Hindu community have taken Astami Snan (holy bath) , one of the special religious festivals of the Hindus, with due respect and solemnity at historical pond named ‘Durga Sagor Dighi’ of Madhavpasha under Babuganj upazila of Barisal on Monday. The main rituals of Maha Astami Snan started on early Monday with worshiping the rising Sun and ended at noon according to the ‘Lagno’ (timing of lunar calendar) with a tradition since 1780. According to Hindu belief Parsuram, a saint killed his mother Omugha Devi at the order of his father Jamadagni by an axe.
The axe clung to his hand as a mark of sin.
