Digital innovation fair begins in Narsingdi

The three day digital innovation fair organized by District administration under the access to information A2I programme of the Prime Minister office began here at Shaheed Minar premises adjacent the Moslehuddin Bhuiyan stadium on Monday. Director General of the Prime Minister Office Begum Nilufar Ahmed inaugurated the fair and addressed as chief guest with Director General ( Administration) and Project Director of A2I Prime Minister office Kabir Bin Anwar in the chair. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) and convener of the Digital innovation fair organising committee Khandaker Nural Hoque delivered the welcome speech .Deputy DC Abu Hena Morshed Zaman, Deputy martial secretary of Prime Minister Colonel Mahabubur Rashid, Communicator of A2I project Nayemuzzaman Mukta, District Muktijuddah Commmander Abdul Motaleb Pathen addressed the function.
Housewife commits suicide in Sirajganj

A housewife reportedly committed suicide by taking poison after failing to bear reprimand for her childlessness by her husband and in-laws at Nodipara village in Tarash upazila on Monday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Rozina Khatun, 30, wife of Khadem Ali, a resident of the village.Officer-in-charge of Tarash Police Station Aminul Islam said Rozina Khatun could not produce any child since her marriage long ago and for this her husband and his family members often rebuked her.Failing to bear such torture, she took poison to bring an end to her life. A case was filed in this connection.
Basic training on quake management ends in Rangpur

The three-day ‘Basic Training on Search & Rescue, First Aid & Fire Fighting for Urban Volunteers’ for post earthquake managements ended at Training Centre of Rangpur Fire Service and Civil Defense Station yesterday. The main objectives of the training course were to enhance skills of the urban volunteers for ensuring efficient emergency response systems to substantially reduce the extent of losses of lives during earthquake in urban areas. Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) and ‘Pollishree’ organised the course with technical assistance of Fire Service & Civil Defense Station under the “Enhancing Inclusive Disaster Resilience in Bangladesh” project being funded by Oxfam.
The National Alliance for Risk Reduction & Response Initiatives Consortium and European Commission Humanitarian Aid & Civil Protection assisted in arranging the training to institutionalize the Community-based Disaster Management Preparedness Model involving the local population at ward levels.
Three clinics fined Tk 65,000 in Panchagarh
PANCHAGARH: A mobile court here on Monday fined Taka 65,000 to three private clinics for having no valid documents and not maintaining hygienic environment.
The team, led by executive magistrate M Sahin Reza, fined the Niramoy Clinic, Aiasha Clinic and Modern Clinic in Boda upazila of the district. Niramoy clinic was fined Taka 30 thousand, Ayasha clinic was fined Taka 20 thousand and Modern clinic was fined Taka 15 thousand, reports BSS.
One arrested with heroin in Pabna
PABNA: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested an alleged drug trader with heroin from Muladuli Station Para area under Ishwardi upazila on Monday. The arrestee was identified as Md Sanoar Hossain, 28, of the area.RAB sources said on a tip-off, a team of elite force conducted the drive and arrested him with nine-gram heroin at noon yesterday, reports BSS.
