RUJA gets new executive body

A 15-member executive body for Rajshahi University Journalist Association (RUJA) has been formed with Mahbub Alom of Daily Prothom Alo as President and Rafiqul Islam of Banglanews24.bd as General Secretary for the year of 2016-17. Addressing the annual general meeting, the outgoing adviser of RUJA Aslam-ud-Doula and President M A Sayeed Shuvo declared the committee on Thursday evening.
The other nominated office bearers are- Vice Presidents Hasan Adib of Daily Jugantor and Mostafiz Mishu of Alokito Bangladesh, Joint Secretary Sazid Manik (BSS), Organizing WSecretary Abu Jafor (Radio Padma ), Treasurer- Rabiul Islam Robi (The New Nation ), Office Secretary- Mustafiz Rony ( Daily Observer ), Publicity and Publication Secretary Mehedi Hasan (Daily Ittefaq) and Cultural Secretary -Talha Tarek ( Amader Somoy ) , Information and Tech Secretary -Rashed Rintu ( jagonews24.com ) , Sports Secretary Sayed Hasan Raj (Khabor24ghonta.com) , Programme and Planning Secretary Jahirul Islam Jahid (Daily Manabzamin) Executive members are Asaduzzaman Rifat of Sabujbangladesh24.com and Sirajus Salekin of Pariborton.com. The outgoing president M A Sayeed Shuvo and Vice President Sujon Nazeer were made advisers for the present committee. RU Vice Chancellor Prof Muhammad Mizanuddin, Pro-VC Prof Chowdhury Sarwar Jahan and other high officials of the university authority welcomed the new RUJA executive.
CSE training course opens in Sylhet

Chittagong Stock Exchange organised a 2 day training programme on “Fundamental and Technical Analysis” in its Sylhet office on Friday for the broker representatives and investors. A total of 55 participants from 20 broker offices attended the training course. Mr. Fakhor Uddin Ali Ahmed, former president of CSE inaugurated the training course as Chief Guest. CSE also arranged same training courses in Chittagong and Dhaka recently.
One killed, 10 hurt in Jhenaidah road mishap

One person was killed and 10 others sustained injuries when a Chuadanga- bound passenger bus of Alif Paribahan plunged into road side ditch near Nagarbathan Bazar on Jhenaidah-Chuadanga Highway on Friday morning. The deceased was identified as Liakat Hossain, 41, of Kanapukuria village under Sailkupa upazila in Jhenadah. He was a betel leaf vendor. The fire fighters had rescued the injured and sent to Jhenaidah Sadar hospital for treatment. Jhenaidah police officer in charge Hasan Hafizur Rahman said, the incident took place when the bus lost its control arriving near Chakumara Bridge area of Nagarbathan at about 8.30 AM. LIakat had died on the spots, while 10 others injured. The fire fighters from Jhenaidah Fire Service and Civil Defiance Station had rescued the injured and sent them to Jhenaidah Sadar hospital. The driver of the bus anyhow had managed to flee. No case was filed till filling of this report in the morning, OC said.
