Two hundred blankets were distributed among the poor freedom fighters in Kotalipara upazila on Thursday. Police super SM Emran Hossain distributed the blankets among the freedom fighters on the upazila parishad premises. Upazila Muktijoddha commander Hazi Abdul Malek Sardar, deputy commander Mujibul Hoque, OC of the thana Abdul Latif, former FF commander Lutfar Sheikh were present on the occasion.
One arrested with drug in Madaripur
MADARIPUR: Police in a drive arrested a drug trader with 1,000 pieces yaba tablets from Lalunar Mor area of the town yesterday. The arrested person was identified as Abul Kalam, 27, son of Hossain Lakti of the town.Officer in charge (OC) of sadar thana Jiaul Morshed told BSS that on a secret information, a team of police raided the area and arrested him with the tablets in the morning.He was injured while trying to flee as he fell down. He was admitted to sadar hospital, the OC added, reports BSS.
408 bottles phensidyl seized in Satkhira

A patrol team of BGB seized 408 bottles of phensidyl from a village of Kakdanga frontier area under Kalaroa upazila of the district on Thursday. Acting on a tip off, a patrol team of Boarder Guard Bangladesh led by Havilder Mohammad khaliq Miah conducted a raid at Gharakhali village and recovered 408 bottles of phensidyl in an abandoned condition. The smugglers of banned item fled from the scene leaving phensidyl sensing the presence of members of the law enforcement agency, The BGB sources said.
Seller, buyer of venison convicted in Bagerhat

Sharif Nazrul Islam, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate of Sadar Upazila in Bagerhat convicted one seller and one buyer of venison and convicted them to suffer rigorous imprisonment for one month on the charge of selling and buying the flesh of deer violating the Preservation Act of Wild Animals. The convicted persons are (seller) Ayub Ali Sana alias Sattar (55), son of one Monir Uddin Sana of village Eksona in Satkhira district and (buyer) Bauddha Dev alias Buddha (55), son of one Nirob Dev of Nagerbazar in Bagerhat district town. Mizanur Rahaman Khan, Officer-In-charge of Bagerhat Model PS said that acting on a secret information a police squad of the PS raided Badamtala Mor (crossing) area near at Daratana bridge, arrested Ayub Ali Sana and Bauddha Dev, seized a shopping bag from them and recovered 6 kgs venison from it.

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) detained Naran Biswas, Indian handling worker and seized seven gold bars from his possessions from no- man’s land along Benapole land port at around 2pm. Referring to BSF, Subedar Abdul Hamid, camp in-charge, Benapole, 26 Border Guard Battalion told that the detained is a resident of Chhaigharia village under Bangaon police station in 24 Parganas, India. Benapole port police in a separate raid detained Abdu Taleb, owner of Sonar Bangla residential hotel on charge of human trafficking early Wednesday. The police rescued two young women from the hotel, too. The women were selling sex there. Abdur Rahim, sub -inspector, Benapole port police station told that a case filed with the police station on charge of women trafficking. Another case was lodged against the women for illegally selling sex at the hotel.
