Tenants info collection starts in Mymensingh

 Mymensingh police has started collecting information about tenants’ information recently. The landlord and the tenants have to fill up the forms and will have to submit to the police station. Mymensingh Municipality is assisting the tenants in collecting information. Superintendent of Police Mymensingh said, militancy and violence could be prevented through this drive .
Dacoits loot cash Tk 1.15 cr from jewelries in Hizla

A gang of robbers looted cash Tk 15 lakhs and gold ornaments worth Tk 1 core from 3 jewelries at Harinatpur Bazaar in Hizla upazila of Barisal on early Tuesday. The incident was happened within 150 yards distances of local police and coast guard camp, the agitated businessmen said. Golam Sarwar, Hizla police station officer in charge, said the robbers’ gang making five night guards of the market unconscious looted three jewelries on early Tuesday. Police detained five night guards of the market for interrogation and started drives to recover the looted items and arrest the robber gang. Manomohon Bhakto, a jewelry businessman of the market, said the robbers breaking locks entered inside the jewelry shops of Dhala Bhakto, Proshanta Kumar and Ranjit Saha and looted cash Tk. 15 lakhs. Then the robbers brought the iron-safe weighed 15 mounds from the jewelry of Proshanta Kumar and carrying that on a trawler left the scene.
2 held with Yaba pills, heroin in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in two separate drives arrested two alleged drug peddlers along with 1,080 pieces of Yaba tablets and seven grams of heroin from Motihar and Bagmara upazilas on Wednesday. In Motihar, members of Rab conducted a drive in Dewanpara area and arrested an alleged drug peddler along with 190 pieces of Yaba tablets and seven grams of heroin. The arrested was identified as Dulal Hossain, 54, son of late Shofet Ali, a resident of Mashkatadighi village in Katakhali area on Wednesday noon. In Bagmara, on secrete information, a team of the elite force from Rajshahi CPC-2 Bagmara camp conducted a drive in Bhobaniganj of the upazila in the afternoon and arrested a man along with 890 pieces of Yaba tablets. The arrested was identified as Babu Pramanaik, 44, son of Nasir Uddin, a resident of Mirpur area of the upazila. Rab sources said the drug peddlers had been involved in drug peddling for long, reports UNB.
3 gamblers jailed in Nilphamari
NILPHAMARI: A mobile court here sentenced three gamblers to three month’s jail each at Kishoreganj upazila of the district on Wednesday. The arrested are identified as Toru Ahmed, 25, Rejaul Hoque, 24 and Roni Miah, 18 of the upazila. Sub-inspector of Kishoreganj thana Shahjahan told BSS that on a tip-off, a team of police conducted a drive and arrested them while they were gambling. Later, the mobile court led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Siddiqur Rahman handed down the verdict on Wednesday, reports BSS.
Winter clothes distributed in Munshiganj
MUNSHIGANJ: Chairman of Tongibari upazila of the district on Tuesday distributed winter clothes among 600 poor people, to mitigate their sufferings. A function was arranged to distribute winter clothes including quilts at his residence at noon. Upazila Chairman Kazi Oahid distributed the winter clothes. Vice chairmen of the upazila Emili Parveen, Rahat Khan Rubel, vice president of the upazila Awami league Manik Miah Bachchu, with others, were present at the function, reports BSS.
