Four sentenced to death for spying
AFP, Gaza City
A military court in the Hamas-run Gaza Strip on Wednesday sentenced four Palestinians to death on charges of spying for Israel, a statement and court sources said.
The court said in a brief statement that a 23-year-old man from the Zeitoun area south of Gaza City had been sentenced to death on espionage charges. It did not provide his name.

WHO declares Ebola outbreak over

The world breathed a sigh of relief Thursday as a two-year Ebola epidemic that killed 11,000 people and triggered a global health alert was declared over, with Liberia the last country to get the all-clear.
The deadliest outbreak in the history of the feared tropical virus wrecked the economies and health systems of the three worst-hit west African nations after it emerged in southern Guinea in December 2013.

Severe weather kills one in Sydney

Severe thunderstorms in Sydney on Thursday killed at least one person and injured another, police said, with winds of 122 kmph (76 mph) lashing Australia’s busiest airport, besides ripping down power lines and closing roads.
A man was killed and a woman passenger suffered critical injuries when a falling tree crushed their car in the city’s west, which emergency services said took the initial brunt of the storm.
