Auto driver killed in Kishoreganj

An auto rickshaw driver was stabbed to death by some miscreants at Donail area in Kishoreganj Sadar on Monday. The victim was identified as Abdu Rahman (20) son of Md. Shamsuddin Miah in Tikuial village under Kishoreganj Sadar upazila of the district. On information, police rushed the spot and recovered the dead body. The body was sent to Kishoreganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy. A case was field in this connection with Kishoreganj Model Police Station.
NAP leader Kazi Bari’s 32nd death anniversary observed
The 32th death anniversiary of Kazi Bari one of the founders of Bangladesh National Awami Party (NAP) and organizer of the liberation war was observed in Kishoreganj district on Monday with due respect. Ganatantry Party, Kishoreganj District Committee arranged a memory meeting at Shaid Tito Pathagar conference room on Monday evening with District President Adv Dolon Bhowmik in the chair. It was addressed among others by Pro Dr. Mahfus Pervez, Chittagonj University, Principal (Rtd) Debendra Chandra Nath, Adv Gazi Enatur Rahman, Dr. Swopon Bhowmik, Senior Adv Poritus Chakrabarty, Adv Rupok Ranjon Roy, Senior Journalist Alam Sarowar Tito, Abdul Awal and Md. Ashraf Ali.
2 killed in Sylhet road accident

Two persons have been killed as a Car rammed into a covered van in Ranaping area on Sylhet-jokigonj Road. Gulapgonj OC said a Sylhet-bound Car rammed into a covered van around 9:30pm on Sunday, leaving two persons dead on the spot. Several other passengers of the Car were also injured in the accident, police said.
Man held with Yaba in Sylhet
Members of Rapid Action Battalion-9 (RAB) held a man with 148 pieces of Yaba tablets from Dakkhin Surma area in Sylhet city on Sunday. The arrestee was identified as Md Jamshed, 36, son of late Sijil Mia of Sadar upazila of Moulvibazar district. Source said, on tip-off, a team of RAB conducted a drive at Lauyai village in Dakkhin Surma at morning and held the arrestee with 148 pieces of Yaba tablets.Jamshed and seized Yaba were handed over to Dakkhin Surma police station.
