Sylhet Cadet College re-union on Dec 24-26

The much awaited gala occasion for the ex-cadets of Sylhet Cadet College, 7th OCAS reunion 2015 will be held at the college campus on December 24, 25 and 26. President Abdul Hamid would be the chief guest of the closing ceremony of the event on December 26, Old Cadets’ Association of Sylhet issued a press release on Thursday. The press release said the president would witness the parade of existing and former students of this prestigious institution. The former students of Sylhet Cadet College will also take a trip down memory lane by taking part in this reunion, the press release also said. The three day long reunion will be consisting of various outdoor activities and cultural programs where top of the line musicians of the country will entertain the niche crowd, the press release read. Basic training workshop on photography held

A three-day basic training workshop on photography for the urban areas journalists was held in the conference hall of Bangladesh Institute of Information Technology (BIIT) Bogra campus on Saturday afternoon. Deputy Commissioner of Bogra Md Asraf Uddin distributed certificates among the trainee’s journalists as chief guest. Md. Ali Ajgar Talikdar Hena, Shadar upazila chairman, Uttorer Khabar Editor Abdus Salam Babu, Photo Journalists Association of district unit General Secretary Thanda Azad, Photo Journalist Shafiul Azam Kamal, Bazlur Rashid Suit, Sakhawat Hoaasin Jony were present. A total 11 journalists of the rural areas were participated the 3-day training workshop. The Basic Training Workshop on photography for the urban areas journalists was organised by personal initiative of the upazila chairman for maximize the efficiency of the working journalists.

Awami League Monirampur Upzilla Secretery and Deed Writer Golam Mostafa (65 died at Bardem Hospital on Saturday midnight (Inna……Rajoun). His Namz-e-Janaza was held at Monirampur Fazil Madracha Eidga Moidan on Sunday after Zohor prayer and buried at his family grave yard. Golam Mostafa has been elected Upzilla secretary for 3 times. He left two sons and one daughter , wife and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death . His Kulkhoni will be held at his resident Mohonpur village on next Thursday.
Properties worth Tk 10 lakh gutted in Fakirhat

Properties worth Tk10 lakh were gutted when a husk wood mill and its adjacent a godown of cotton cum wastes of garments known as Jhut at Shyambagat within Piljango Union Parishad under Kachua Upazila in Bagerhat district on Friday evening. Both the factories belong to one Siddikur Rahaman. The cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained. It is reported that in the evening at first the husk wood mill caught the fire and it (fire) spread to the adjacent go-down of cotton cum wastes of garments and within a short time it went out of control. Being informed of the matter 3 fire unites rushed to the spot from Bagerhat and brought the fire under control after a long fighting for one hour.
