Adulterated ghee worth Tk 10 lakh seized in Barisal

Police on Tuesday seized 82 cartoons adulterated Ghee worth Tk 10 lakhs from a bus at Rahamatpur area on Barisal-Dhaka highway under Barisal Airport police station. Police also seized the bus and arrested Kabir Ahmed, driver, Md. Rafik, supervisor, Razu, helper of the vehicle.Sub Inspector Abul Khayer of Barisal Airport police station, said police opening a check post at Ramamatpur near Barisal Airport searched a bus (Dhaka-Metro-Ba-11-1113) of Rupsa Paribahon plying from Chittagong to Pirojpur at about 10:00 am.From the luggage box and rooftop of the bus police seized 82 cartoons Ghee marked as ‘AB-1’ of an unnamed company of Shafipur, Gazipur without any sign of BSTI approvals. Shaheduzzaman, Barisal Airport police station in charge, said address of a factory of Gazipur was quoted on some cartoons, but those were loaded on the bus from Chittagong and have no signs or documents of BSTI approvals.
Housewife found dead in Gaibandha
GAIBANDHA: Police recovered the body of a housewife from Chapadah village in Sadar upazila on Monday night. The deceased was identified as Hosne Ara, wife of Babu Miah, a resident of the village. Gopal Chandra, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said Hosne Ara, daughter of Sadekul Islam of Kurarpara village, remained missing since Wednesday. As a bad odour was coming out from a ditch besides the house of Babu in the evening, locals informed police. Police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy at about 9:30 pm. Police also arrested Babu’s parents Moksed Ali and Romana Begum, reports UNB.
5 cops hurt in Comilla road crash
COMILLA: Five policemen were injured as a truck collided head-on with a pickup van carrying them at Beltoli in Sadar Dakshin upazila on Tuesday morning. The injured were identified as sergeant Anwar Hossain, constables Shamsuddin, Ruhul Amin, Abdul Hamid and Mihir Kanti of Moynamati Highway Police outpost. Officer-in-charge of the police outpost Mashiur Rahman said the Dhaka-bound truck collided with the pickup van carrying a petrol team of police on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway around 7:30am, leaving the five cops injured.
Founding anniv of Islamic Foundation observed in Gopalganj

Islamic Foundation, Gopalganj arranged a discussion meeting on the occasion of 39th founding anniversary at its office premises in Gopalganj town recently.Md Khalilur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (DC), Gopalganj, Raja Mia Batu, President of District Al (Acting) and AI-Haz Ruhul Amin, Senior Vice President of District Al, Gopalgaj were present as the chief and special guests respectively. Sheikh Akramul Haque, Deputy Director (DD), Islamic Foundatin, Gopalganj presided over the meeting. Earlier, On the occasion of the Day they brought out a colourful rally and paraded the main roads in the city organised by Islamic Foundation, Gopalganj. Among others.
