One killed in road accident in Rampal

One passenger was killed on the spot and 15 others were injured-4 seriously when a passenger bus (Dhaka Metro Cha-54942) met an accident on Khulna-Mongla Higway near at Bagra bridge under Rampal Upazila in the district on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Sobhan Khan, an employee a development human organisation. Being informed of the matter police rushed to the spot, recovered the dead body and sent it to Bagerhat morgue for its autopsy. It is learnt from the passengers that the bus was going from Mongla to Khulna and when it reached the place of occurrence it tried to side a truck. But unfortunately it skidded off the road and plunged into a road side ditch. As a result, passenger Sobhan Khan was killed on the spot and 15 others were injured. Seriously injured Monirul was admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital while ther seriously injured passengers Alijan (80), Shafi Begum (18) and a school student Naim (11) were admitted to Rampal Upazila Health Complex.
Body of missing trader recovered from Arial Kha River

Police on Saturday afternoon recovered dead body of a missing vegetable trader after two-day from Uttar Char Dakatia shoal under Muladi police station of Barisal district. Sub Inspector Tarikul Islam of Muladi PS, told after informed by local people police recovered the male dead body aged around 35-40 years at about 3:15 pm from a shoal on Arial Kha River. Later the body was identified as Abdur Rahman Bepari, vegetable trader and son of late Kubbat Ali Bepari of Vonga area under Kazirhut police station of Muladi upazila missing since March 20. The male organ was severed from the dead body and it sent to Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, police sources said.
College student drowns in Jessore
BENAPOLE (Jessore): A college student drowned in a pond at MM College in Jessore district town on Sunday afternoon.
The victim was identified as Shubho,20, an honours 6th semester student of Jessore M M College and son of Jahid Hossain, a resident of Barandipara in the district town. The victim’s family members said Shubho slipped into the pond on the college campus and drowned at about 4:30 pm while taking bath with his friends as he did not know how to swim.
Locals rescued Shubho from the pond and took him to 250-bed Hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead, reports UNB.
Chandpur-Laksham train link restored after 11 hrs
CHANDPUR:Train communication between Chandpur and Laksham, which was suspended following a derailment near Dorji Ghat on the outskirts of the district town on Sunday night, resumed on Monday morning. Railway office sources said a Laksham-bound local train from here suddenly came to a halt as a compartment of the train derailed in the area around 9.30 pm, disrupting train movement on the Chandpur-Chittagong, Chandpur-Laksham and Chandpur-Sylhet routes causing immense suffering to the passengers. Railway officials said the accident took place due to fragile condition of the rail tracks. On information, a relief train from Laksham station rushed to the spot at around 2:00am. The rail communication on the routes resumed around 8:30am today after the damaged tracks were repaired, reports UNB.
Road accident kills one in Kurigran

One motorcycle rider collided head on with a running track at chottabari area near Kuti chandrakhana govt. primary school under Phulbari upazila in Kurigram district recently causing one died and another injured seriously. Local sources said a track bearing no-Dhaka metro-ta-14-7814 was going to Phulbari upazila from Nageswari collided head on with a running track from opposite direction causing one died on the spot and injured one. The deceased was identified as Jahedul Haque 30 son of Hujur Ali of village Kashipur under the upazila. The injured Saddam Hossain 23 son of Akkas Ali was taken to Phulbari upazila Health Complex. When his condition was deteriorated was shifter to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.The killer driver of the track Aiyub Ali 50 son of Abdul Mazid of Nurpur area in Rangpur town along with helper of the track was handed over to Phulbari police station.Duty Officer of Phulbari Thana ASI Sukuimer admitted the incident and said a case was filed.
