JICA-BPATC joint seminar held in Kishoreganj

Bangladesh Public Administration Training Cente (BPATC), Japan International Co-operation Agencies (JICA), a South Asia- based donor agencies and Kishoreganj district administration jointly organised a seminar on Improvement Services through quality management at Kishoreganj Collectorate Conference room on Sunday. Acting Deputy Commissioner Kazi Abed Hossion presided over the seminar while Mr. Foziara, Japan team leader, Kaizen attended as Chief Guest. It was addressed among others by BPATC Director & Joint Secretary Dr. Abdul Hakim BPATC-MDS Bonik Gouasuden, BPATC Deputy Director Mustak Ahmed, Senior Trainer Amir Khasru, Local Government Deputy Director Emdadul Haque Chowdhury, ADC (G) Tarafder Md. Akter Zamil, ADC (Education & ICT) Golam Mohammad Bhuiyan, District Press Club President Mostafa Kamal, Principal (Retd.) Professor Rafiqul Islam Khan, Dr. Sultana Rajia, Mithamoin Upazila Chairman Advocate Shahidul Islam and Pakundia Upazial Chairman Refiqul Islam Renu. District level officers, Upazila Chairman, UNOs, Doctor, College Principal, Executive Engineer and journalist attended the seminar.
Solidarity Day observed in Jessore

Jessore District Unit of Bangladesh Nationalist Party held a discussion meeting at Jessore District Lawyers Association marking the National Revolution and Solidarity Day on Saturday morning. Chaired by Rafiqur Rahman Toton, Vice-President- Jessore District Unit BNP, the meeting was addressed among others by Syed Saberul Haque Sabu, General Secretary, Jessore district unit BNP, Professor Golam Mostafa, Abdus Samad Biswas, Kazi Azam, Abu Hasan Jahir, Abu Murad and leaders of the party and its front organisations.
Maha Shamshan Dipali Utsav at Barisal

Hindu community members of Barisal have started observing Maha Shamshan Dipali Utsav on Monday at Barisal Maha Shamshan Ghat and Dipabali and Diwali Utsav at their houses. The two-day festival would be ended on Tuesday night.Worship of Maha Shamshan Kali, the goddess for the cremation-ground, also held on early Wednesday. Total crematory area and houses of the Hindu community people were decorated with lights and lamps on this occasion at nights. Narayan Chandra Dey Naru, former secretary of Barisal Maha Shamshan Rakkha Committee , said ‘Maha Shamshan Dipali’ festival observes in the sub-continent only at Adi-Shamshan Ghat of Natun Bazaar and Maha Shamshan Ghat (the burning spot or cremation-grounds and grave yard of the parts of Hindu dead bodies) of Kawnia, two crematoriums in Barisal city since 1850.
